Job Summary:
The Operations Manager will plan, direct, coordinate, and oversee operations activities in the company, ensuring development and implementation of efficient operations and cost-effective systems to meet current and future needs of the business. Provide direction and supervision of the following functional areas:
Inventory Management
- Overhead doors
- Rolling steel doors
- Hardware
- All other inventory and related items
· Fleet Management
· Safety Management
· Traffic/Dispatch
Reports directly to the Vice President of Operations
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide daily operational leadership and management of all warehouse and office facilities as well as inventory, traffic/dispatch, fleet, and safety functions at the Georgia facilities.
- Develop and implement best practice plans for operational infrastructure of systems, processes, and staff designed to streamline processes and use of resources and materials and to accommodate rapid growth objectives of the business.
- ·Set clear accountabilities (including metrics) and expectations in alignment with business goals, identify and remove obstacles to success, and drive a high performing team and culture.
- Provide regular performance analysis reports for review with senior leadership and department managers.
- Establish, communicate, and implement operations-related policies, practices, standards, and security measures to ensure effective and consistent support and execution.
- Review and collaborate with sales team to drive business growth.
- Establish and administer budgets for each operational department.
- Review and approve cost-control reports, cost estimates, and staffing requirements for projects.
- Maintain inventory controls in alignment with established standards.
- Drive efficiency and productivity through stock rotation, space efficiency and utilization.
- Drive a safety culture focused on education, proactive risk management, loss prevention and accountability ensuring all employees and managers play a role in creating a safe and secure working environment.
- Provide plans on fleet utilization and replacement; analyze maintenance costs.
- Provide supervision and training to all fleet drivers.
- Direct repair, service, and maintenance of all owned and leased vehicles.
- Develop and supervise vehicle preventive maintenance schedules and processes.
- Collaborate with senior leadership and facilitate opening of new facility sites in non-local markets.
- Identify training needs and collaborate with HR to ensure proper training is developed and provided.
- Foster a success-oriented, accountable environment within the company.
- Develop direct reports through immediate performance feedback, annual performance reviews, and individual development plans.
- Work with HR/recruiting/warehouse managers to solicit new employees for warehouse, facility maintenance, fleet maintenance, and drivers.
- Develop travel schedule for regular visits to non-local facilities.
- Set expectations for all employees and ensure uniform, timely and consistent performance management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree preferred: major in business, industrial distribution, logistics, or related disciplines.
- 5+ years in a senior operational management role in a $70M+ company with 100+ employees
- 10+ years of operations/inventory control experience in a warehouse/distribution center/manufacturing environment
- Supervisory experience leading managers and teams in multiple locations
- Skilled in process improvement, budget and resource development, and strategic planning
- Experience planning and opening new facility sites a plus.
- Fleet management experience.
- Lean Six Sigma and/or EOS Traction experience highly preferred.
- Flexible and able to multitask.
- Comfortable working in a fast-moving environment while also driving toward clarity and solutions.
- Able to maintain travel schedule as required.
- Overhead door experience preferred.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $140,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
