POSITION SUMMARY
Manage the permit process in multiple states in coordination with HyperFiber engineering and contractor partners for state and city municipalities, Department of Transportation (DOT) railroad crossings, right-of-way (ROW), pole attachments with local power companies and regional-specific permitting entities.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Identify state, regional, and local permitting entities and document permit submission requirements for each.
- Coordinate in market and/or virtual touch points with each permitting entity.
- Coordinate the development of permit packages with internal and external resources.
- Manage the permit process to ensure the construction build schedule is not delayed.
- Evaluate vendor performance and report weekly on permit submission and approval rates.
- Set weekly permit submission targets based on permitting entity approval timeline to meet construction schedule.
- Serve as liaison with internal resources to assure permit applications are submitted in order and on time to meet project schedule.
- Coordinate with permitting agencies to organize applications, adjust as desired, and resolve any issues preventing or delaying the permitting process.
- Develop plans including timelines, tasks, and schedules for permits from inception through issuance.
- Ensure permit submittal packages are in accordance with jurisdictional requirements.
- Identify jurisdiction-specific requirements and disseminate that information throughout Operations.
- Monitor/track permit packages through systems or in person as necessary to meet local requirements.
- Monitor project folders and effectively communicate the status of each permit.
JOB EXPERIENCE & REQUIREMENTS
- Three years of experience in the telecommunication construction industry.
- Three years of client management experience.
- Demonstrated experience reading and comprehending legal documents, such as legal descriptions, surveys, ground leases, easements, deeds, title policies, subordination, and technical drawings.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and track multiple independent projects with varying milestones and deadlines.
- Detail oriented.
- Demonstrated ability to work with municipalities and the varying complexities of each.
- Thorough knowledge of Microsoft 365 platform. Exceptional experience with Excel, Word, and PowerPoint software, Outlook email, and full utilization of Teams.
- Professional demeanor and communication skills.
- Proven ability to solve problems creatively and handle multiple tasks simultaneously, with minimal supervision.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively handle confidential information.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively handle new and/or sensitive situations, and determine what actions are required.
- Willingness to travel to local markets.
- Compliance with company controls and processes.
- Record of integrity, ethical, professional, and personal standards supported by references.
