The hourly rate for this position is $18/hr. Working 5-10 hours per week.
Data entry assistants are responsible for assisting and supporting the HSUS animal crimes team with daily operational duties that involve animal cruelty reports that are entered by concerned citizens across the United States.
This is a non-HSUS position and will be employed through a 3rd party.
You will be responsible for:
- Monitoring the email inbox for the animal crimes team and forwards cruelty-specific concerns to the appropriate case manager;
- Conducting necessary investigative online and or phone call research;
- Communicating with local law enforcement and or animal control agencies to inform them of animal cruelty concerns;
- Creating animal cruelty reports and entering accurate and detailed information into the Chameleon database;
- Supporting data entry projects;
- Participating in weekly team meetings;
- Maybe on occasion deploying to assist with animal crimes field response;
- Working courteously and cooperatively with the team and other staff members.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required;
- 3 years’ experience in humane law enforcement required or animal cruelty investigations required;
- Experience with Chameleon Database preferred;
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications;
- Strong organizational skills;
- Strong oral and written communication skills;
- Ability to work independently or as a team, take initiative, and maintain good communication with HSUS staff.
