HOST/HOSTESS JOB DESCRIPTION

Position Overview:
The Host/Hostess is the First and Last impression that our guests receive. It is imperative that you possess a warm genuine desire to make people happy and want to return.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Welcome incoming guests with a smile and eye contact.
- Thank departing guests and engage in conversation such as “Look forward to seeing you soon” or similar conversational piece.
- Escort guests to respective dining area; present menus, and inform guests as to whom their server will be.
- Tend to special needs of guests such as a high chair, location of restrooms.
- Manage the flow of guests into dining or bar areas, based on their preference.
- Use visual cues from seated parties as you pass throughout the dining room and respond to their needs.
- Maintain and accurately inform arriving guests of any wait list in progress.
- Answer incoming calls to the restaurant.
- Protect the establishment and patrons by adhering to sanitation, safety, and alcohol control policies.
- Assist dining room staff by replenishing water, serving beverages, providing silverware, etc.
- Take To- Go Orders on POS system.
- Receive and process payment for To Go orders.
- Process, record and issue Gift Certificates as requested.
REQUIRED COMPETENCIES:
- Must possess a passion for providing extraordinary customer service.
- Must be able to maintain an upbeat, outgoing and positive attitude in a fast- paced environment.
- Ability to multitask.
- Prior customer service experience preferred.
- Must be 16 years of age.
- Ability to communicate guests’ needs to wait staff, bussers, and management.
- Ability to stand and walk throughout entire shift, as well as, ability to reach, bend, and stoop.
- Ability to read, speak, and write English.
- Must be well organized, professional in both appearance and demeanor, and possess ability to adhere to details.
- Notify Management of any Lost and Found items discovered.
- Ability to lift up to 20 pounds.
- Perform all assigned side work inclusive but not limited to maintaining an organized, clean Host, Lobby, and Takeout area.
- Hourly check restrooms for cleanliness and sign off.
- Any and all reasonably assigned duties by the Manger on Duty.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma and/or GED
- Minimum of 2 years restaurant or retail experience.
- A passion to please and work in a team environment to provide an award winning experience for our guests!
