An Accounting Associate is a member of the accounting department responsible for essential department functions that involve data entry, research, reporting, and the resolution of discrepancies. Primary duties will include accounting pertaining to swine production, A/P coding, A/R, inventories, and various month end closing procedures as necessary.
Key Tasks (Duties and Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following.):
-Daily Sales and animal movement entry.
-Open and close groups in the accounting system.
-Responsible for all week/month end reports of inventory (weekly inventory summary).
-Coding bills for approval from the management team.
-A/P duties including entry into the accounting system.
-Monthly/Quarterly tax reporting.
-Data entry for farm production activity.
-Contract Grower payments.
-Bookkeeping.
-Intercompany invoicing.
-Bank Reconciliations.
-Assist with administrative overflow and special projects from other departments as needed.
Supervisory Responsibilities
None.
Qualifications
Computer literate and proficient with MS Office applications (i.e., MS Word and MS Excel).
Educations and/or Experience
College degree or equivalent work or educational experience.
Experience in inventory control (not required).
Accounting experience.
Language Skills
English.
Mathematical Skills
High School Level.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to input and report data.
