Production Casting Manager

Summary of Position: The Production Casting Manager will be responsible for upholding all safety protocols, the supervision of all casting staff, and meeting Company established production goals with in-specification aluminum.
Responsibilities
Safety
· Ensure all work is executed safely, report any unsafe working conditions
· Ensure everyone is wearing proper PPE: steel toe boots, hard hats, safety glasses, face shields, etc.
· Ensure black rubber gloves are not being used in the furnace area
Quality
· Ensure all finished product is filtered and degassed.
· Ensure samples are taken for each bundle
· Ensure all OOS is properly labeled and quarantined
Production
· Ensure all Shift Lead and CRE Checklists are followed
· Organize workflow on the shop floor by communicating assignments to the
team at start of shift to meet production goals.
· Upon arrival, send expected furnace cycle times and F4 transfer times for the day via “Casting ALERTS” group chat.
· Ensure all of the next heats charges are staged.
· Push Shift Lead to get F3/F5 in spec. chemistry and temperature
· Communicate all requirements to shift lead to have furnaces casting on time.
· Request photos from Shift Lead and CRE as proof of completed tasks/checklists.
· Inspect production equipment, report any damages or required PM via Fixx, and coordinate with the Plant Manager and CRE when work can take place.
· Report any delays in the “Casting ALERTS” group chat in real time.
· Have first charge in RiA 30 minutes before cast ends.
· Charge F4 to maintain full bath level and transfer temperature of 1350°F
· Coat molds every other day
· Clean RiA rake and spray with BN once per shift
· Spray launders and dross pans with Marcote once per week
· Clean F3/F5 automatic thermocouples every other day
· Clean and inspect alloying scale daily, check with test weight once per week
Housekeeping
· Clean F4 melting chamber once per cycle
· Skim F4 holding chamber once per day
· Clean F4 pump wells once per day
· Empty dross pans to correct areas and clean furnace door sills immediately after skimming.
· Clean any and all metal spills if they occur
· Charge pit sows and reject ingot with every charge
· Maintain a clean production floor
· Clean and inspect all production equipment once per week
Experience
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in casting operation.
- Leadership Managing minimum of 6 or more employees
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to frequently walk, sit, stand.
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 35 pounds
Additional Requirements
Schedule: Sunday, Friday, Saturday and every Thursday from 6PM-6AM
- Ability to work in a fast paced, hands-on manufacturing environment.
- Must be highly motivated and self driven
- Must posses strong organizational skills
- Must be willing to work on swing and graveyard shift
- Must work 90% of time on the floor with Casting staff
